This intermediate course is intended for administrators and support personnel who wish to learn the key skills required to implement security on Linux installations. As more servers on the network move to the Linux operating system, security becomes an increasing concern. The goal of this course is to become aware of security threats and the learn the techniques to prevent and guard against these threats. Topics include physical security, access security, file and file system security, password security, kernel security, network security and encryption. Students will also be introduced the steps involved in designing and implementing a security policy. Exercises will provide students with hands-on practice implementing the concepts learned in the course on Linux Red Hat.
