Advanced Network Security Training

Courses within this category should instruct the student about how to secure and defend the network infrastructure and the various network protocols such as TCP/IP, ICMP, SNMP, DNS etc.  Secure topologies may also be discussed and some introduction to network devices such as routers, firewalls, IDS and VPN's may also be included. It would be expected that a significant proportion of the course be devoted to protocol analysis where the content of packets are analysed from the security perspective.

Please note that this portal identifies all information security courses that are available globally, we do not conduct the training ourselves, though do resell some of the courses from our preferred suppliers.  Feel free to get in touch for advice or if you wish to nominate an instructor lead course that we have not listed - Thanks

GL510: Network Security

http://www.gurulabs.com/GL510.html

Course Description: This extremely popular class focuses on network security, and makes an excellent companion class to the GL550: Host Security course. Protocols used in Linux, UNIX, and Windows 2000 are examined. After a detailed discussion of the TCP/IP suite component protocols and ethernet operation, the student practices using various tools to capture, analyze, and generate IP traffic. Students then explore the tools and techniques used to exploit protocol weaknesses and perform more advanced network attacks. After building a thorough understanding of network based attacks, course focus shifts to the defensive solutions available. Students install, configure, and test two of the most popular and powerful NIDS solutions available. Finally, students create a Linux based router / firewall solution, including advanced functionality such as NAT, policy routing, and traffic shaping.
